5 of us stayed
in a cabin and 2 in campground on May 30th and 31st and 2 joined us
for the day.
We started off
the day by walking around the cabin area and then 3 of us went by bicycle on
the Trail to the Coeur d'Alenes while the others covered part of the trail by
foot. The bicycle group went west
toward Plummer while the others headed east to the bridge. We then joined our two groups and birded by
car. We drove to Desmet to check the sewage ponds and then back through Heyburn
State Park to St. Maries, Round Lake
(Mission Point Road), Goose Haven Road, along the St. Maries River and finished
our day along Benewah Lake and back through Heyburn State Park .
We had a total
of 103 species - see chart below to compare 2008 with our 2003 count.
