From the Camera of Wayne Tree

Tufted Duck [Aythya fuligula]

Monday, March 24th 2003 before noon today @ River Road

where it gets All Good!!!!

The wind was blowing and gusting strongly, making

observation an extremely cold event to accomplish.

My eyes were continually full of tears. This made

viewing anything extremely difficult. It was with

great satisfaction that I achieved some very good

photos to document this rare Tufted Duck.

I was patiently taking pictures of this sleeping Tufted Duck

as it peacefully slept when suddenly it awoke and began

to swim away. I was so startled by this maneuver I almost

missed getting its wakeup pose.

Almost ducked out!

The Tufted Duck was riding the waves when all of a sudden

it disappeared between waves. That is everything except the

head. The bird was visible when my camera shutter clicked.

After almost  an hour of photography work

I finally succeeded in obtaining an excellent photo of this

extremely rare waterfowl traveler.

I came, I saw and I photographed!!!!

See picture 17 - his camera set he used for these pictures
