Highway Clean-up Spring 2027

  • Mica Grange 7465 West Kidd Island Road Coeur d'Alene, ID, 83814 United States (map)

Help our community by volunteering for the semi-annual Highway Clean-up on our designated section of U.S. 95’s “Adopt a Highway” program.

Roadside litter can pose a particular hazard to birds and other wildlife. Food scraps and shiny objects can attract birds to busy highway areas, while discarded materials and debris can create opportunities for wildlife to become trapped or entangled. By maintaining a two-mile stretch of highway near important bird habitat, Coeur d’Alene Audubon is helping create a cleaner, safer environment where birds and other wildlife can forage, nest, and thrive. It’s a simple but meaningful way to care for local habitat while building community pride.

Crews generally work in teams of twos, and when participation is strong, the work is successfully completed in a couple of hours. This location marks a change from the area we previously managed and is a less-mountainous stretch of highway. Members who would like to participate will meet at the Mica Grange where they will be issued safety vests, bags, grippers, and assignments (and some treats).

Please email us at rsvp@cdaaudubon.org to RSVP and to receive event updates.
