Join us for the Coeur d’Alene Audubon chapter’s semi-annual Highway Clean-up on our designated section of U.S. 95’s “Adopt a Highway” program. Birds and other wildlife can be enticed to unsafe highway areas by shiny items and litter; in extreme cases, they may become entangled in discarded items when searching for food. Coeur d’Alene Audubon organizes this highway cleanup to contribute to a cleaner environment and create safer spaces for birds to forage, nest, and thrive. Our efforts are a simple but helpful way to improve a local habitat and instill community pride.

Crews generally work in teams of two, and if 16 or so members participate, the work should be successfully completed in a couple of hours. Members who would like to participate will meet at the Mica Grange where they will be issued safety vests, bags, grippers, and assignments (and some treats).
